The 4th 2020 draft of the NDoH NCDs National Strategic Plan (NSP) circulated on Monday 30 November 2020 to the NCDs NSP Technical Committee. Make comment by 10 January 2021. Send comments to Dr Atiya Morsam
Dr Vicki Pinkney-Atkinson is the sole civil society representative on the NDoH NCDs NSP Technical Committee and it is for this reason she asks you and your organisation to make comment on this draft. The process to develop the NCDs NSP is ongoing since 2018 with multiple issues of transparency and inclusivity.
Make your comments on the attached Word document as there is limited capacity to deal with “overarching” comments.
“Overarching” comments go beyond limited possibilities of the often micro focus made on the in the Word comment feature.
The SA NCDs Alliance recommends that stakeholders make both micro- and macro-level comments on the structure, evidence and processes.
A new development is that Public Health England is to peer review this draft of NSP. The SANCDA welcomes this intervention. We have asked for clarity on the scope and nature of the peer review process.
