Who is the South African Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance (SANCDA+)
The SANCDA+ is a large loose grouping of individuals and organisations that seek to ensure the human rights of people living with NCDs+ (PLWNCDs+) in South Africa. These are members, allies and partners (MAP).We are a non-governmental organisation formed in 2013 that advocates for equitable non-communicable diseases(NCDs+) prevention and treatment in South Africa.
The SANCDA+ exists to ensure that people living with NCDs+ at any age, get their constitutional right to equal and quality NCDs+ prevention and management services and support without experiencing financial hardship. Four trusted NCDs+ advocacy organisations with over 200 years of service to South Africa established a civil society partnership. The founding members are the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), Diabetes SA, Heart and Stroke Foundation SA and PHANGO. Today it consist of more than 100 organisations and independent members.
