World Cancer Day is fast approaching, and there are many activities planned for the day. This is the second year that will fall under the 3 year “We can, I can” World Cancer Day campaign.

There are multiple activities planned for the day:
The SA NCD Alliance will be holding the first NCDs meeting (IsiZulu = Indaba) at a provincial level with the KwaZulu (KZN) Department of Health.
On Friday 9 of May Christelle Crickmore (Heart and Stroke Foundation SA), Lindsay van der Linden (Health Care Providers NCDs working group) and Vicki Pinkney-Atkinson met with Dr Jimmy Mthethwa and the dynamic KZN Department of Health’s NCDs team.
In a ground breaking move KZN NCDs Department paved the way for the first meeting of its kind the stakeholders well find ways for all sectors to work together on specific NCD priorities.
The purpose of the meeting is examine KZN NCDs priority list and see how the NGOs sector can work to beat the epidemic of NCDs in KZN.
The Indaba will be taking place on the 24th of June at: Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital-Nurses Home Recreation Hall.
Registration is from 8am-9am
Indaba starts promptly at 9am – 4pm
Space is limited to 300 delegates.
The will also be exhibition space open to companies or organizations.
